Christ Harvest the Nations Ministry

The Bible says in Matthew 24:14 that the Gospel must be preached to the entire world before the end comes. We have a responsibility to preach the Gospel to every nation. You were told about Jesus; you have to tell somebody, too. This is what the Lord wants us to do now, not tomorrow. The Bible says in John 4:35 that we must lift our eyes and see that every village, town and city is ready to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. They need Jesus! Maybe we are afraid that no one will listen to us, but the Lord is telling us that the harvest is ready.

Jesus taught us to pray for the Kingdom of God to come so that the will of God can be done here on earth as it is in Heaven. The will of God can only be done here on earth as we tell the world what the will of God is so that they can accept it. Jesus laid down His life for us and He told us that if we want to follow Him, we must take up our cross and follow Him. This means we should be ready and willing also to lay down our lives to save the world, one soul at a time. The Lord expects us not only to work where we are located but also to reach out to the ends of the world. What are you doing where you are? And what are you doing in the world outside your community? Support missions in your church and local community; support missions on the international front. Where you can’t go, your resources can enable someone else to go.

At CHRIST HARVESTS THE NATIONS MINISTRIES our goal is to allow Christ to use us to draw the people of the world to Himself; as they come, we seek to provide them with churches where they can be nurtured so they can then reach out to their neighbors. Anytime a soul is won, the whole heaven rejoices! Let’s create some noise in heaven! Let’s join hands and take the NATIONS for CHRIST.

CHNM believes strongly that if the gospel is going to be preached effectively and efficiently, there must be a greater collaboration between Christ-centered Christian organizations. Through our Networking Ministry we join hands with others to reach out with the gospel. Networking enables us to be effective in places where others have followed the call of God to bring the Gospel to the local people, supporting and partnering especially with rural ministries and ministers here in Africa. Networking also enables us to receive support from other organizations with the same goals as ours: winning souls and manifesting the love of Christ to all nations.

As Christians we have a major stake in shaping the future of the world. The best way to do it is to reach out to the children whilst they are still building values and lifestyles, whilst they are still cultivating their character. Jesus gave us a practical example whilst on earth: His disciples thought the kingdom of God would come to the adults who were considered knowledgeable so in their ignorance they stopped the little children from coming to Him. Jesus, seeing their mistake, stopped everything else He was doing and called out loudly that the children be brought to Him. When the children were brought to Him, He spent time laying hands on them, playing with them, educating them, feeding them, and declaring that the kingdom of God belongs to the children ( see Mathew 19:13-15).

In today’s churches we find few that are consciously and strategically reaching out to the children. Some churches don’t have any programs whatsoever for the children who attend the church; others merely keep the children out of the main service to keep them from interrupting it.

In Psalm 78 we are told to teach the children the ways of the Lord so that when they grow they will put their trust in God. Proverbs instructs us to train them up in the way they should go so that when they are older, they will not depart from it. CHNM, in partnership with friends and other organizations, is doing our part by the grace of God to establish and strengthen children’s ministries all over Africa and the rest of world.

The following excerpt is from the book, An Obruni's Tale: On Wings of Love by Colleen McCallister, copyright 2006.

On Tuesday I spent some time talking with Pastor James Godlly, the senior pastor of Christ Harvests Sanctuary, my host church. He and Pastor Paul are dear friends and work together; he was most blessed by our conversation. He asked me to minister at church on Wednesday night!!!

I told him that I was uncomfortable doing that, but that my prayer in coming was that I would be submitted to the pastor and be a blessing, so yes, I would do it. As I took the pulpit and began to minister, I felt the Spirit take over and share His heart through mine. It was a great time in the Word, glory to God.

Later, I had a most wonderful conversation with Pastor James: I asked him to tell me about his vision and he shared so many wonderful things. He told me that he and his associate pastors had been praying for direction in 1996 and the Lord had instructed them to go online in order to connect with people who would come to their church and bless them. By faith, they did so.

Well, I told him that early in 2004, I had asked the Lord to give me something worthwhile to do in my free time. I was led to begin an online ministry in chat rooms; I would just observe the conversation till I felt led to target one of the participants. I had asked the Lord to connect me to people to whom I could minister. It soon became a nearly full-time endeavor, most rewarding.

One day, a young man named Paul IM’d me and said hello. Because I was new to chat rooms, I was wary of the IMs I received but this Paul was gently persistent, contacting me every so often, and after awhile my heart was so taken with the ministry that the Lord has called him to as he shared the wonderful things that he did.

How thankful I am that I responded; what a wonderful friendship developed between us and what a persistent desire grew in my heart to see the work that the Lord had called Paul to do and to be part of it. And so, on December 1, 2004 when I was laid off from my job and was in the midst of “What am I going to do?”, I decided that I must go to Ghana. I had no idea how I would do that; I just knew that I was going.

When I IM’d Paul and told him that I was coming to him to see the work of God that he had been called to, he simple wrote: I know; we have been expecting you. At the time, it was a curious remark, but then most of our conversations up to that point held a bit of curiosity to them. Coming to know a dear friend in a little box on the monitor of my computer was the curiosity of curiosities to me; it still amazes me how the Lord connected us to each other.

As Pastor James shared his vision with me, Paul’s response to my telling him that I was coming to him exploded in my heart: We know you are coming, we are waiting for you. They had been expecting me for a long time!

How wonderful it will always be to me how the Lord directs every moment of our lives; nothing happens by chance, no one enters our lives without purpose.
