India, December 2008: What a blessed visit to Northern India, a country beautiful beyond description and yet bound in religious beliefs equally oppressive. The people are warm and welcoming to visitors, but not to Jesus Christ. My experience has brought my heart to seek the Lord to help me live and move and have all my being in the Presence of the Living God so that the people witness a Risen Christ among them when I return.

One of the many, many street beggars who approach the cars relentlessly. It is heartbreaking that one must simply turn one's head and ignore them or they will badger endlessly in the hope that you will give them something.

India, the World's Largest Democracy: It was an eye-opening experience as an American to realize that the definition of the word "democracy" is not universal. Our blessed nation of America is a democracy founded on Christian principles; for all of our shortcomings in keeping it that way, our Father continues to watch over us, helping us to regain our territory. The democracy of India is founded on Hinduism, and it protects its Hindu foundation at all costs. It is Hinduism that drives the democracy here, not democracy that contains the Hinduism. The government will go to violent lengths to maintain its purity to the Hindu gods; missionary visas are becoming impossible to obtain, visitors found sharing the Gospel are jailed and deported, natives found preaching the gospel can be put to death. I have been told of natives who have had the hand that passed out a bible cut off as a warning to remain silent. We must burn in our understanding that we are in this world and not of it and that we serve in the Kingdom of the Almighty God, whose Kingdom reigns over all by the words of our mouths, the steps of our feet, and the touch of our hands.

The humility of this Hindu man touched my heart as he removed his sandals in front of the temple to pray to his gods, false gods with deaf ears to his earnest prayer. Inside the temple, poised behind statues of the gods, are statues of five huge cobras standing on end, mouths open with tongues hissing, ready to strike any force that comes against its demonic throne. Pray for the Hindu people, whose souls are so precious to our Father.

The little boy, perhaps 3 years old, was walking the crowded city streets alone. His right hand is wrapped in bandages with bright red blood seeping through. Is he truly in need or is he one of the thousands of children who are professional beggars? My host had warned me over and over not to give any attention to these children.

That is my hand to the right reaching out to the child just before I was stopped; if a mother's heart reaches out to a hurting child without thought but with only love and concern, how much more does our Father's heart reach out to him?

These are some of the outcaste children of Dehra Dun; they are in the Dalits caste. They are not simply snubbed by society; they are persecuted and live in utter poverty. These particular children paint molded statues and vases on the side of the road to make a living. The smallest child has work to do in this culture. These children will not get an education; will never have prospects for gainful employment; and will most likely die at early ages because of health problems and utter poverty.

This is Johnny, a delightful Hindu child who spends his days hawking trinkets. In my conversation with him, I tried in vain to give him some sense of Jesus Christ; his earnest and pure heart stopped me when he began to say, "But my mother told me...." At that point, I had to back off and I simply asked him to pray to the Living God, Who would show him Truth: he agreed. Keep this child in prayer, that he and his entire family will find the Truth.

It is illegal to preach the gospel of Christ in India; pray for the courageous native believers whose hearts compel them to preach in the face of persecution and personal dangers.

I believe the only way to break through the religious spirit of Hinduism is to walk among them in the manifest power of the Presence of God, signs and wonders following as they followed Peter, whose shadow held healing from the Presence of the Almighty God Who lived within him.

Please pray for the nations; intercede for those who bring the Light of the World to the nations of the world that live in spiritual darkness. The beauty of the Hindu heart is most engaging but how will we answer our Father when so many will go to eternal damnation with the god of this world who has them so blinded to Truth?

What is more precious than a human soul? What price do you place on each one? Our Father has paid in His own blood to purchase them back from perdition.

Ask your heart in earnest prayer, "What am I willing to give to bring these souls into the Kingdom of the Living God?"

Ask your Father, "What could I possibly do?"

You will be delightfully surprised at His answer. Go into all the world and preach the Good News. Until you are actually deployed to actually GO, sow seeds of giving to prepare your way.

Preaching2.jpg

Isaiah 61 declares: The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are] bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

It is an honor and a privilege to bring the Lord Jesus Christ to the nations.

In Punjab, these children followed me along the street, laughing and filled with curiosity at the foreigner in their little village, running with glee as I turned to laugh back. One little girl, not visible in this photo, had crossed eyes and my heart and hand instinctively reached out to her to command them to be straight. Midway into the reach, however, my surroundings imposed themselves on my consciousness: I was attracting attention that could have dire consequences for my host. I had to be content to simply touch the child's head and move on, not looking back. The Lord was so gracious to me: His command is to go and lay hands on the sick that they may recover. My part is to lay hands; it is the Holy Spirit's part to bring it to pass. It was a hard lesson for me but most encouraging.

The Hindu religion brands these children as outcastes; children as charming, lovely and innocent as the ones on this page are considered less than a dog. Bind the stronghold of religious bondage in your intercession daily. Remember always that Jesus Himself is touched with our infirmities and that everything we do for a child, He considers as having been done for Him Personally. And ask Him how you can help support those missionaries who are anointed to preach the Gospel to the downtrodden, to set the captive free, to lay hands on the sick that they may recover and most importantly, in a country bound by demonic spirits, that they may reach the hearts of those who are crying out for Salvation.
